Huzhou Zongzi from Zhejiang are known for their unique preparation: glutinous rice seasoned with soy sauce, wrapped in marinated meat and shaped into long strips, boiled for about two and a half hours. This process results in a softer, stickier texture compared to other Zongzies. The rice absorbs the rich soy sauce flavor, creating a savory and creamy taste with a strong rice aroma. Renowned for its meticulous production, Huzhou Zongzis are praised as the “King of Zongzi.”

In this collaboration, we've combined the renowned Huzhou Zongzis with Sichuan pepper. After meticulous development and multiple adjustments, we add crispy, spicy fried Sichuan peppercorns to enhance the seasoning soy sauce, and marinated the rice with it overnight. The zongzies feature a perfect blend of Sichuan pepper’s bold aroma and spiciness, seamlessly integrated into the soft, round glutinous rice and meat. This unique culinary creation is sure to astonish your taste buds and is a must-try for discerning food lovers!

1. Sichuan Pepper Chicken Huzhou Zongzi
Crispy Sichuan peppercorns are finely ground and mixed with our exclusive sauce, then marinated with fresh, tender chicken drumsticks for 12 hours to ensure every piece is flavorful. When you unwrap the Zongzi, you’ll be greeted by a tantalizing aroma. One bite, and the spiciness of the Sichuan peppercorns unfolds in your mouth, perfectly balanced with the tender chicken. Enjoy the delightful dance of pepper and chicken in every bite.

2. Sichuan Pepper Vegetarian Huzhou Zongzi 

Shredded mushrooms and lightly fried chestnuts are combined with Sichuan peppercorns, crispy spicy pepper mix, star anise, and bay leaves, then slow-cooked to perfection. This Zongzi features a rich array of organic and non-toxic ingredients, including XinShe mushrooms, king oyster mushrooms, yellow sweet potatoes, Beigang peanuts, Japanese golden chestnuts, lotus seeds, mung beans, and oats. Each Zongzi is packed with filling, delivering a hint of Sichuan pepper’s numbing flavor in every bite.

❋ Cooking Instructions:

• Boiling: No need to thaw. Place the zongzi (with the leaves) in cold water. Start timing when the water boils. If frozen, boil for 20 minutes. If refrigerated, boil for 10 minutes.
• Steaming: No need to thaw. Place the zongzi (with the leaves) in a steamer. Steam for about 20-30 minutes with 2.5 cups of water. If steaming over boiling water, wait for the water to boil, then place the zongzi in the steamer and steam for about 20-25 minutes.
